biography Volikan is an average height Helions Hrothgar, a little bulkier than most, and is laden with pale golden fur with brown accenting. He has one teal eye and the other eye is missing following his days as a sailing Marauder.Volikan was born in Bozja. He was about 3 years old when the events of Project Meteor took place, his parents snuck him into a cargo ship bound for Limsa Lominsa as a way for him to escape the conflict that would soon arise. Once he was found by the crew of the Argos, they took him in as one of their own. Once old enough, he became a pirating Marauder, efficient in both Blunderbuss and Bardiche. Growing up, Volikan always felt he had a sense of duty and honor to maintain and always vowed to save those who saved him. In his late teens, he once saved the Captain, a Hellsguard Roegadyn named Rhotahtyn or "Red Judge" from a Garlean ship captain that was being plundered. It cost Volikan his eye and left visible scarring on his face, but he saved Rhotahtyn that day and earned the title of "Maetiskylt" or "Mighty Shield" from Roegadyn heritage. Volikan always looked up to Rhotahtyn so this was an incredible honor to him.Around his 20s, after returning home from a voyage, Volikan returned to the Drowning Wench and came across a Hrothgar similar to him in a blue coat traveling with a Viera in white. Radovan and Sophie welcomed Volikan with open arms, and told him about the Garlean's invasion of his homeland, how he escaped, and about the fearsome Gunblade. Together, they ran numerous adventurer missions across Eorzea while also mastering the art of Gunbreaker. After a run in with Vitus quo Messalla, Radovan reveals to Volikan that he was incredibly close with his father, and that Volikan's parents both perished trying to reclaim their home from the Garlean invasion.Volikan vows to wield the Gunblade in their honor and assists the Gunnhildr's Blades in their reclamation efforts in the Southern Front.Following the liberation of his home, Volikan sought to explore the world and help those who can't help themselves. He keeps his gunblade charged and loaded, always ready in case trouble comes his way. The "Mighty Shield" is always prepared to defend those who need defending, no matter what.
